Pontimaniac - did the Accel stuff help the 305?

I've got the airfoil on order and want to do the exhaust first, but I'm looking to help the output, as well.

Re: formula?

i also have an 87 formula, and i think they came factory with the T/A hood of the older T/A's. The wheels for 87 formulas were only used on 87's and are more of a flat wheel as opposed to the convex wheels of later formulas

87 was also the first year of the third gen formulas

Re: formula?

The 82-84 Trans Ams donated that power bulge hood and it became part of the Formula package. 85 and on T/A had a flat hood.

The Trans Am 16" rims (84-87) were used only on 87 Formulas. They were dropped by 88 from both T/As and Formulas.

I kinda said what others were saying but think I said it better

Re: formula?

THe Formula came with the following:
Power Buldge Hood (from the 82-84 Trans Am)
16" Wheels Standard (Flat in 1987, Dished from 1988 +)
WS6 Suspension
Wrap around Aero Spoiler (from the Trans Am)

Re: formula?

I have an 87 Formula(12/86 man) and it has all the Formula items, except it has a flat wing and third brake light. Must have been some left over stuff.

Re: formula?

More than likely the wing was changed by a previous owner, its pretty common, as the aero spoiler was originally made from Urithane and would split, crack etc. NO Formula came with the "Wing" from the factory. Although it (the wing) is more aerodynamic and lowers the drag coeficient.
