"Motor is 383 Stroker (California Smog Legal) Chrome Inport Injection Unit"

Little scarey they don't even know the name of their injection system.

I don't see anything so special about the car, lots of chrome and money, but what is so hard about putting Baer brakes on the car?

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

i agree with AmorgetRS, its got a lot of shiny stuff under the hood, but other than that i would not call it the ultimate camaro by a long shot. Baer brakes are over-rated and way overpriced, my C5 fronts look the same, slightly different calipers, and cost less than 700 bux complete. And im not into custom enclosures and sound systems , my engine can drown it all out, though the extra weight in the rear would not be so bad . Its nice, but i've seen better here on TGO, to me it just looks like a stock vehicle with a lot of chrome thrown at it, and "corvette" injectors, cause everyone knows that "corvette" injectors are best...

I think the big thing with Baer Brakes is you buy a kit, and its a nice kit to boot, you get everything you need bolt it on and go, no guessing.

I went that way and am very happy personally...

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

A few things jump out there, the Inport (Tuneport?) injection, and corvette injectors were already mentioned. How about the 4L60 trans, and "custom gearing" in the rear end. Who puts a 4L60 in a third gen? Also, "custom gearing" sound a lot like "I don't have a clue whats in the rear-end".

And "Please no e-mails or calls about tire sizes, wheels, etc., just because you want to make your third-gen look better..." - cut me a break, dig your head out of your leather cherrio, its not that special. Wow, chrome. Impressive. Not really....

I don't think the 4L60 is odd at all... th 4L60 was GMs official name for the 700R4 starting in 91 IIRC. The 4L60E is what came later and is, my understanding, just an electronically controlled 700R4.

And this is an 87. How many of us that know third gens would call the trans the 4L60E, not the 700R4. I guess thats my point. I'm sure he didn't get a Tune Port Injection setup to electronically manage a 4L60E, my point is this seller is trying to "talk the talk" without really knowing up from down.

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

It is not a 4L60E, it is a 4L60. It was a name change and that was it. He may of very well of bought it as a 4L60, as that is what whoever he bought it from called it. He is probably just repeating information on that one. You can buy the transmission control module from TCI for a few hundred bucks as I remember. I don't think there is any realistic way to get a 165 ecm to control the transmission.

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

Wow a lot of harsh opinions in here. Chromed out? Maybe for some...That is a very clean third gen. A lot of time and effort went into it. Not sure if the guy selling it did all that(i doubt it) but the point is the car is a nice example. It just hurts that the guy doesn't know anything about it. I like those wheels a lot.

Though i do wonder how much of the suspension was touched?

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

I really hate pointing this out but the person selling the car does not have a problem.... You have a problem, clear and simple, why you have a problem is unclear and I really do not care. Since you have nothing to do with the sale or purchase of the car I personally think you should keep your comments to yourself. To simply state that you "Think the car is overpriced" would be acceptible, but to call him names because you disagree with what the value of the car is, tends to be a bit immature. If you think he is an idiot, fine, if you think he is a !@#$%^ or whatever is something that does not need to be stated.

To go even further from what I can tell he has not advertised anything that was dishonest, the point that he does not want trivial emails asking bizar questions about the tire size is odd, considering they look like 18's Beyond that What is your beef? Envious?

Re: Ultimate 3rd gen? Baer brakes, sound sys... wow

Im a fellow ebay seller/purchaser, and seeing comments like he wrote discourages people and is poor salesmanship, obvious because he didnt sell his car. The statement not wanting questions makes him act like his car is hot ****, and that people like it so much they want theres to look like it. The facts about the car arent clear, most likely because he doesnt know or there junk. If he would actually say what the car has it would justify the price. My beef is i cant stand idiots on ebay that dont know anything about the item there selling, overprice stuff and refuse to answer questions, he qualifies for all 3.

Yet if he posted it here on the appearance board, you'd be drooling all over it saying what a nice car he has.
We all strive to have "the ultimate" thirdgen, that's just his interpretation.
