Willie, a convertible question for you............
Willie, I was reading another post on this page. In this post you said that the convertibles were shipped back to GM for final prep.I have a Canadian 1990 Iroc convert. I ordered the info pack from GM Canada. It states that the date of production was OCt 4th 1989 and it was shipped on the 6th of Oct. My questions are
1. The production date is the day it was produced at GM as a T Top car? Or the date it was Finaly completed as a convertible after returning from ASC.
2.Shipping date is the day it left Van Nuys for Asc or Left Gm as a completed car to end up at the dealership in Tilbury Ontario.
Just curious if you could clear this up for me.
Thanx ,steve

Steve,
As far as I know, final documentation for a car is not completed until the car is completed. Therefore, your October 4, 1989 date is the date GM completed it's final prep on your car -- and ready to sell. It was probably at ASC about two weeks prior to this date. "Regular" cars usually take about three to four weeks to build. I'm sure our convertibles took a couple weeks longer.
