Found a 1992 B4C!!!
It's an ex-Oregon state trooper car used for high speed chases. It has a rollbar and all documentation. It's a 350/auto with 100k miles. The owner is asking $6500. Is this a fair price? I'm thinking about going to look at it but need to know if this price is reasonable. Thanks guys!

Willie,
I think it is not bad. There is one in california that has 160k miles and they are asking I believe $7500.
The original documentation helps. I really do believe in this.
I am also looking for a 92 B4C done here in Texas.
What about options? If it is fully loaded maybe you can offer the guy $5500 to $6000
I do not know how many of the 589 B4C's were 350's and how many were 305's. I know that the Texas DPS used only the 5-speed 305's in 91 and 92
If it is clean, make the guy an offer.
I think that people who have the ex patrol cars are going to ask alot more now than maybe a year or two ago. I guess that they know that us camaro buffs are looking for these rare cars.
In my opinion, I would not pay more than $5500 but if you are looking for a 350 B4C, this might be once chance for you to grab one.
Let me know how it turns out.

Willie, that car belonged to my friend in Scottsdale AZ. He sold it to someone in Tucson so I guess they are already selling it. It was a very clean car but Oregon cars are stripped out versions. Only option I remember is rear defrost but it was a clean one. Hope this helps.
Willie if you like I can talk to my friend about that car for more info.
Manny, what were the options on the 160k mile car. It wasn't dark green grey metallic? I would like to know. One day I will like to keep tabs on as many of them as possible. Are you only looking for one that was not in service?

Actually, there are 2 I found on autotrader.com
One is the 350 in california and the other is in Michigan. That one is a red 305-5speed with 44k miles. They are asking $9800 with all the original paperwork.
It had a potential buyer but I have not called back. The reason they are selling is because they want a 350 b4c.
As for looking for one not in service, I would like to hav one, but if there is one but priced too high I will get a 92 B4C that was used in service; preferably with options and original paperwork if possible.
Hope this helps!!!

There's a dealer near me that regularly sells 92 B4Cs in the $4500-$5500 range, depending on condition. Most seem to have right around 100k miles. I think he's pretty much sold his last one though. I don't think NY has any more thirdgen cars in their fleet. I wanted the one he had last year but didn't have the coin, then after it sat for a few months he put a paint job on it and the price went up.

man, imagine if one of these cars fell into the wrong hands and the owner didn't know it was a b4c, could you imagine finding one that someone thought was just a regular old rs? that would be sweet, oh well, i'll keep dreaming.

Willie,
In response to your question, I say $6,500 is definitely the right price for that car, especially when you consider that around here, garden-variety RS's with that mileage are $4,500...
Seems to me that even though B4C's are very rare, most of them are still around, as even I have seen 3 or 4 for sale in the past year. I've seen more B4C's than I have TTA's around here!!

Willie,
I actually owned the vehicle. It is a very clean car with minimal wear on the driver's seat. Unfortunately the only options are power hatch and rear window defrost. I know the Sergeant that drove the car and the maintenance history also. I just picked up a '91 B4C Camaro with 56k miles, never in service, fully loaded 305/5-speed for not too much more than the $6500 asking price. Hope this helps, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

Willie, I just drove by the place tonight that has all of the thirdgen B4C cars, and he's still got the one he had last year. They seem not to sell real well out here because most people don't know what the car really is. This one has brand new paint. The interior is decent, but not perfect. Just about 100k miles. He wanted $4500 before the paint. I'm not sure what he wants now, but considering the prices you're looking at, you may want to consider a trip to the great north.
I can get you the phone number of the dealer if you're interrested.
