Ok a dealer where I got my car (1992 camaro RS Z03 red with black heritage stripes)has like 10 thirdgens and all of them are pretty rough but are drivable and complete. This summer I am probley going to buy his 1988 Iroc 350TPI with T-Tops off of him. But before I go buying any one of his third gens I want to make sure I get the most rarist one. But one of his caught my eye. It is a 1987 Camaro IROC Z LT. LB9 with an Automatic ,T-tops, power windows, locks, seats, and is white. But it has one of those sport coupe front ends that no one likes. I thought to my knolege they never made an IROC LT. It evens says camaro LT on the steering wheel. So is this a car to ****** before someone else gets it. My next question what third gen should I get off of him?I will list them out with details-
-1988 Camaro IROC L98, auto, red, t-tops,all wh. disk, loaded, needs paint and interior work, complete though.
-1989 Camaro IROC L98,auto, white, t-tops,all wh. disk, loaded, needs paint and interior work, complete though.
-1987 Trans Am LB9, auto, blue with silver ground effects and gta wheels
-1989 IROC LB9 auto, red , t-tops, rear drums, rust in rear quaters, needs paint and interior work
-? GTA, L98, auto, leather, white, mis matched rims and pretty large dent in left rear quater, all wh. disk, bad paint, interior needs a lot of work
-? GTA, L98, auto, red, all wh. disk, needs interior work, and needs repainted on front left fender.

He has others but are V6's and so I am not going to bother with those, I can get these really cheap so don't bother about the price just about which car is prob the rarist car.

It could be an LT,
The LT to my knowedge in 1987 was to be a sister car to the Formula on the Firebird line. Much like the SC is to the Firebird, the Trans Am is to the Z28 & the GTA is to the IROC etc...

It could be possible that it is a true LB9 LT car.

THAT would be a very rare find indeed, especially if its all original and you could find the RPO sheet OR a build sheet ..

Yah, definately need a build sheet on that one! Double check the RPO codes in the console box and post them here!

There is no such thing as an IROC-Z LT. It's either one or the other. If it's got the LT steering wheel and a sport coupe front end then I'd bet it's an LT. Check the RPO SPID label in the glove box like a couple others have already stated. The code for the LT package is B4E. Oh and if it really has an LB9 tuned port engine then the engine is a transplant, or the car is not an LT. The standard engine for the LT was the LB8 MPFI V6, and the upgraded engine was the LG4 carbed V8.

Here's a pic of my LT's engine bay with a transplanted LB9.

I will get the rpo's up hopefully very soon. I thought it was very rare also but the I said to myself their was never a Iroc LT. But it has the iroc stickers on the side, iroc z28 emblems on the gfx and on the dash, LB9 with the sticker under the hood that says tpi 5.0 liter, white exterior, red iterior, 1987, sport coupe front end, lt streering wheel., power everything. See what I mean all the categories seem to fall into place. But the only way is to get the rps codes so I will try to get that done soon. With a picture also. But the last time I tried to post a picture here it said that it was too big. So how do I shrink my pictures? Thanks

Well this is an interesting find. Can you get the RPO codes by any chance? Or even a VIN number?

Sounds like something someone cobbled together. Probably just put the sport coupe front end & steering wheel on it.

People often put the wrong parts on their cars cause they can't find the right ones, or the parts are too expensive. I had an 82-84 rear bumper & quarter GFX on my car cause I couldn't find the 85-90 parts. My neighbour had a 91/2 nose on his bird with 85-90 gfx. There's also a Z28 running around here with 82-84 nose & 85-90 GFX.

87 Sport Coupes never had GFX or the LB9

Ok the vin is 1G1FP21F3KL114265. Which means its a 1989, and that makes no sense because in the doors it says 1987. So I am thinking that it was wrecked and a sport coupe donated its parts like nose, door, maybe fenders to it. Darn it well still it a pretty nice car. It has the posi, lb9.
