I'll try my hand at this.Hope it helps.Looks like some are just internal codes for sales, packages or possibly production line process. The XO6 didn't come up though.
U27 - Lamp,INTR,I/P COMPT,Courtesy
U28 - Lamp,INTR,Ash Tray,Courtesy
E7Z - Sensor VEH SPD - Delete
R7K - Control Sales Item NO. 36
R7M - Control sales Item NO. 38
Z31 - Identification Price Sheet Advance

XO6 isn't listed anywhere that I can find, but most of the X codes are for tires. It's probably your tire type/size.

It's interesting the "R" control sales codes for Canada includes R7U Player's Challenge cars. But the domestic content for R7U is different. Also speed is right on the "Q" as being tire related. All tire options begin with "Q" - that i've found so far.I haven't found anything for the "X" codes yet.May just be an internal production code for the assembly line placement or shift.

In 1989, X05 and X06 were used for ordering packages ... sort of like base, level 1, level 2.

In the firebird lineup X05 was the base, X06 included rear cargo cover, cruise, power mirrors, power windows and locks. The option groups changed depending on what car you ordered (base, Trans AM, GTA, Formula).

If you have X06 ... then you got the package of options instead of selecting them one by one.

Mark.

That sounds pretty acurate about the xo6. My car has power everything.. mirrors, windows, antenna, hatch, breaks, locks, etc.

thanks guys

also is U27 a light in the console box or something? I dont know what to look for to see if it is still there.

The U27 courtesy lamps may refer to the LH & RH under dash lamps, part of the TR9 lamp group. And the U28 ash tray light is a fiber optic link from the ash tray to the shift quadrant light, although I'm not 100% certain of this.
Thankyou Mark for shedding some light(opps couldn't resist) on the "X" codes.
