Did 87 Iroc 350 tpi come out with T-tops

Just wondring if the 350 tpi came out as a t-top in 87 on the Irocs or is this a swapped motor?

I find it curious that you could get it that way on the iroc-z but not the GTA in that year.

Frankie has posted on the gtasourcepage that even though they say the GTA wasn't available, he has seen '87s with factory t-tops.

My '87 has t-tops, but aftermarket.

according to gm,in 87 the GTA's weren't available with t-tops and the 5.7.You could get it with t-tops and the 5.0 engine but not the 5.7.I had one with cars and concepts t-tops also but that doesn't count.

87-89 had T-Tops available with the L98, 90-92 didn't.

I don't think you could get them that way in 87. the 88's and up you could but not the 87 GTA's.They were worried about the structural stiffness or something. That is why the dealers had to resort to aftermarket t-top companies.GM gave up in later year's apparently and caved in to consumers.Any help out there in this guys?

Have a 87 Iroc sitting out in the Garage with Factory T-tops in it.

the thing with T-tops is that you could get a 350 with ttops in them past 90 but they were DEALER optioned NOT Factory optioned.

Dealers knew that T-tops are a big seller so they shipped the car off to get ttops in them after they got them to the showroom.

Question #8 - "Could you get a 350 TPI GTA with T-tops?"

Yes, and No. Initially for 1987, only 5.0L GTAs could have T-tops installed; they were not, according to the order sheets, available in any Firebird model with a 5.7L engine. This must have changed at some point during the year, as I have seen 1987 GTAs with both options.
