is this a rare car???

found an 88 GTA with 5-speed in the local classifieds...lots of other thirdgens but this is only one that peaked my interest...is it rare? im not keen on the firebird lineup....also is 2500 a good price for it?

I'd say it's kinda rare in that there just aren't alot of manual GTA's around. That's only a good price if it's atleast a 7 condition wise. Good condition GTA's are really easy to find now a days for a cheap price if you look hard enough.

Transmission: 700R4's, a T-5, and a Turbo 350
In my area $2500 is a good price for any decent GTA. Just remember, if it's a 5-speed it has to be a 305 car.

Engine: 403 LSx (Pending) / 355 Tuned Port
Transmission: T56 Magnum (Pending) / T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
There were about 800 5-speed GTAs in 88. In general, the TPI 5-speed cars are rare. I just started driving my 88 5-speed GTA and it's definately a ton of fun to drive.

I'm getting off the topic just a little but I thought you guys might like to hear about this one. A guy at my church bought a 87 GTA 350 from a relative just to use as daily transportation. The car had 25,000 original miles on it when he got it(about 28,000 now),and he paid only $7,000 for it. It'd be nice to have relatives like that.
