'88 GTA questions
NOTE THIS IS NOT AN AD. I'm looking at this clean '88 GTA. The guy will sell it to me for $3400. It has digital dash, leather (drivers seat re-covered w/vinyl),L98/700R4,-red paint...average condition, power windows/power locks/power mirrors/power seat w/lumbar,gold gta rims w/original WS6 centercaps,VATS. It has 110,000 on the clock. Clean history. 1 owner. Tires good. Runs great. The only problems it has is the common cracking/warping of the rubber spoiler. I am thinking about it because i need an auto daily driver (get sick of 2 stick cars after a while) and a friend of mine wants to by my '87 formula. Is that price about right?

If everything works including the entire digital dash I think it's a good price for a 1 owner GTA as long as the tranny doesn't slip and the engine doesn't burn any oil....

I'd say go for it. The price is about right even if it does have some problems. I would tend to think you'd be hard pressed to find a T/A or GTA with an original aero spoiler that wasn't cracked, and repro's are available.

sounds like a good purchase if it is indeed a 1-owner car. i agree with drew about the aero spoilers cracking, as an 86 trans am i looked at about two years ago had an aero spoiler, and it was cracked up pretty well, which surprised me with the car only having 83k miles!
but then again, this was a van nuys car, too, so who knows.
check the car out, see what you think about it, and keep us posted. a friend of mine just sold his 90 iroc ( i'm pretty sure he did, unless he put it up for storage for the winter) and he was asking 5k for it. car had 85k miles on it, fully loaded, had all documentation (original window sticker, etc.)
winter is the time to get these cars for cheap! i paid 1200 for my 84 camaro, so deals are out there. good luck
