Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a list of the exterior and interior colors available for 1983 and 1984 Firebirds (preferrably using the correct Pontiac color names). I have the 1982 colors as I own an 82 Dealer book, but I cant seem to find 83 and 84.

I am almost certain the 1984 color combo's have been covered here before.

 

I did a search of the forums and couldnt find exactly what I was looking for...

I'm not interested so much in the color combos as I am the "main" colors for 83s and 84s (i.e. the available colors for the cars - not the accents).

Exterior colors for 84 Firebird, T/A & S/E (Some were exclusive to certain models or option combo's):

White 11
Silver Sand Metallic 15
Black 19
Lt. Royal Blue Metallic 22
Dark Royal Blue Metallic 27
Beige 59
Lt Brown Metallic 62
Dark Gold Metallic 65
Dark Brown Metallic 67
Bright Red 75

I have the interior colors for 84 also. I just didnt feel like typing it out yesterday. Ill try and get them up today.

 

83 exterior
11- white
15-silver sand metallic
19- black
22- light royal blue metallic
27- dark royal blue metallic
62- light brown metallic
67- dark brown metallic
75- bright red
82- dark sand grey metallic

83 interior
17- charcoal
22- royal blue
60- light sand grey
64- red doeskin
67- dark briar brown

84 interior
17- charcoal
22- royal blue
60- light sand grey
64- medium doeskin
67- dark briar brown

I'd just like to add a correction in the color name for the exterior code 75.
It's called Spectra Red,,, not Bright Red.

Bright Red was a later color, and was code 81.

Just quoting the colors from the Firebird Red Book Not sure if its the Firebird Bright Red Book or the Firebird Spectra Red Book...

 

I realize that not everyone knows everything, myself included, but when an offer of a correction is given, it is only meant as educational information and not an insult.
I also have that book, and that isn't the only error I've noticed in it.
If you would look further in the model years, for the color red, they still call it Bright Red, but the code changes to 81.
I have been a bodyman and painter for over 20 years, and have mixed both of the reds, and they are most certainly different.
The code 75 is alot darker, than the code 81.
In the picture below, you can see my car on the left, code 75, and my brothers car on the right, code 81. I have painted both cars, and still have a hard time deciding whick color I like the best.

Sorry if this turned into a rant, but I was only adding to the discussion, with my correction. Just proves you can't trust everything you read.
