Body Plate Question

On my 88 Firebird there is a plate on the passenger radiator shroud, it appears to be a Body ID plate but only has the numbers 03 6347 embossed on it.

What exactly is this plate? what do the #'s mean? it doesn't look much like the Body ID plates I'm used to seeing.

Any help would be appreciated.

sure, here's a snap of it, kinda low quality though....
I've seen a few other plates like this, but I can find no information on what the numbers mean.

Here's another thread that's asking the same question. So far nothing has been posted that explains it.
