plates came off of my camaro yesterday

took the plates off of my 89 RS 5.0 yesterday. they salted the streets after that awful storm we had recently. i drove my car for the last time this year the morning before the storm. i hate salt and i hate taking my car off the road. but i do what has to be done the keep her solid and rustfree. its a north carolina car and it never has/will see salt as long as i own her. i see drive he again in the spring. how many of you guys take your car down for the winter. this winter ill be saving to work on her in the spring. i already have 240 bucks put away. spring mods are going to include a 3" performance exhuast, maybe new seat apolstry and a new carpet. so winter is a time to work overtime and put money away for spring projects. she's off the road for now but not forgoten about.

Mine has seen salt for 16 years in a row, and it shows. When i was 18 and got her i had no cash for another car so i had to do it. Now it just seems like second nature. Any one notice that a lot of younger drivers are lost in the snow. I mean they marvel that i drive a rear wheel drive car in the snow. They don't realise that 20 years ago when i got my lisense most cars were rear wheel drive. Put them in rear wheel drive and they would be lost.

Yeah we have about 20cm of snow right now so the Camaro stays in my garage for the winter.

winter

Yes, My 85 has NEVER...EVER seen salt! It is a northeastern car, originally from Ohio and now in PA. It is in excellent shape, and no rust on her! I have it stored in a heated garage for the winter. I think it helps with the overall body (covered and a tarp underneath the car) and the seals on it. This is just MY opinion, the person I purchased it from had it stored in a warm garage too. (I am the 2nd owner of this fine machine!)
