Finally put on my Ronal R15's
After many years of wanting those Ronal R15's, I finally bought a set a while back and 2 weeks ago I put them on, and my god how good they look in person!! I loved them on the Firehawk, but some angles on a few photos are not that hot, but man, when they were put on, they look so damn cool! I get a lot of compliments from non third generation people. I will have to take a few photos to put up to post, mine are silver with red trim. Andy

Yeah they do look great dont they?
I bought a set when SLP had a sale, think its been over 2 + years. They still are patiently waiting for me in their SLP boxes.
Mine are black, I may have them redone with gold so I can run them on my GTA and TTA however. Maybe even red for the Formula :-)
Sad part is, I'm gonna be gone for as lil over a yr in school, so they still wont be on a car for another 1.5 yr :-(
dont post pics, I'll prolly start crying lol

They shall be avenged and equipped with killer dry weather tires.
At some point :-(
Interesting topic, I just put R15s with Red inlays on my 1992 TA, I have only a few pics of the car in the garage as the next day it snowed 10" in Chicago. I can post the pics if you guys want but I can't be held responsible for your actions thereafter. Hawks does still have these wheels available...
These look absolutely amazing on the car, I am probably going to lower it a little in the spring just to get rid of some of the gap in the front.
Let me know if you want the pics...

Yes, RPM, please post the pics. I have a set in silver that I plan on taking to my powdercoating connection to have accented with red this winter.
What is the Hawk's price, shipped, now? There is a guy I know selling sets of 4, brand new, with new tires mounted, for $1600.

Here you go. Hawks wants $899 unpainted, an extra $400 for inlays, and their painter does an excellent job, good lines and he cleared over the whole thing. Excellent job. Also it was $120 for shipping, truck freight, very well packaged.
I'll get better pics once the snow melts and I can get the car out of the garage.

What do you think about the ride height? Are you planning on lowering it any?

Are those original "Firehawk" center caps? If so, where did you score them?

Hey Greg, where have you been? No, they are like photo above me, red colored, damn nice job by Hawks Third Gen Parts. I wish I could get an original center caqp for them. ANdy

RPM , no, I would not lower, it is just right as is. Besides, with all the bumpy roads down here it would be killing me to drive down the street. Andy

Do those caps come painted red like that? I want those wheels with the red windows but I don't want the caps red...

I'm sure that we can't explain it in a way that would make you like them, Bullydawg. It's a matter of personal aesthetics. Different people prefer different things.
I think they look awesome on Birds, and am very happy with my set.

I don't mean it in a bad way, I just don't find them very attractive looking. Some of them rims I like you may not like. So I guess there is something you like about them that I just don't see.

Agreed.
Some of the things I like about the Ronals are that the spokes are nice and thick, and the lip is awesomely deep.

No the center does not come painted, when you buy ( Hawks third gen still has a few in stock as to where I bought mine ) they are silver and you can request the inserts painted for extra fee. There also has been a new set on eBay for a while with tires, that set is all silver, the center cap says Ronal in blue lettering on that set.
My wife always hated the look of these from the photos I would show here from the Firehawk, but when you saw them in person she liked them, they are so cool looking and much wider. She likes them once she saw them. It is a matter of personal taste, I have never heard of anyone ******* them, maybe it is the high price. Andy

RPM, that pic above is one of the sweetest pics of a red Bird I have ever seen.
The paint on yours reminds me how lame my Maaco cheapie job really is.

You're lucky with the snow, it has been raining every damn day still since I put on my rims, won't put any dirty photo on here, but here is one when she was clean outside, just imagine the R15's on her. Andy

They make me moist
Because you're right, I think these really are the best looking wheels you can put on a Third-Gen. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love factory wheels on these cars. Whether its Formula PEOs or GTA PW7s, I hated taking my GTAs off the car but they are SUCH a bitch to clean, and I am sickly obsessed with clean wheels. I used to spend hours cleaning my Formula wheels, and those were easy compared to GTA wheels!!
These Ronals are a breeze! And my OCD likes that!
Bull, thanks for the compliment! That is actually original paint!
Here's a link to some more.

I think those red ones look great but i think they would look better without the red caps just the normal metal look Seems a bit overdone with the clown nose on top...but hey could be considered the cherry to top it off eh

There was just a set on eBay last week for 800 or so, silver finishe, be careful though as who ships them as 2 of mine were damaged from UPS who had to replace them due to their poor handling. Mine were from Hawks, great seller!
I have more photos at fquick, my name is 1991Formula350 there too, Thanks! Andy
