Rebuilt engine and rebuilt tranny
Is it even worth informing people of the rebuilt tranny/engine it seems all anyone cares about price wise is what the odometer reads...the engine and tranny is not even over 3k miles on it but you tell people that and they just look at you and ask what the odometer reads. Why is that?
Overall mileage is always the major factor in value.
In the case of a completely restored car, and I'm talking ground up restoration, the original mileage wouldn't matter. In this case it would be determined by what year the resto was done and how many miles are on the resto.
It sounds like your car is not a complete resto, just an engine/tranny refresh. In this case I'd say your rebuilds go towards condition. Condition is a very critical factor, and I would absolutely mention it. However unless you've got the documentation to back up your claims it's not going to get you any extra money. Also if the rest of the car shows it's age too badly it's not going to matter much to a buyer either.
Best of luck in selling the car.

First, anytime I'm looking at a car and the owner says it's got a rebuilt anything, I'm inclined to assume that it probably wasn't done right. Most mechanics don't take the time to put things back like they were before pulling the engine, transmission, what have you.
Second, the value is going to be based on the condition. Simply having repaired part of the car doesn't increase the value, it restores the value. When the engine/tranny went bad the value dropped drastically. When you fixed those parts the value went back to where it was before.

Well considering what all you said i would like to imply that your right and i understand all that was put out thier. It isnt a ground up and what not i did have it painted new as well with the engine/tranny rebuild the body looks supurb and inside looks really nice too (new carpet and new headliner put in helped alot) Sad thing is my year make and model base value in great condition and low miles is like 2500ish
with kelly blue book. How sad that a good car of that caliber is only worth a bit more then the paintjob that just got put on it.
