1LE Control Arm
For those of you scrounging around junkyards and swap meets for 1LE components, it appears that the lower control arms were stamped “LE” for quick identification at the assembly plant. Here’s a picture from a 1992 1LE.

Possibly if you were doing a restoration on a 1LE car they would be needed.If judges take off points for not having the correct oil filter or battery then you'd probably lose points for having incorrect LCA's.

The 1LE version has a higher durometer rubber bushing. The whole business is still available from GM, I think. I have the part # around, should anyone be interested.

JamesC do you know,besides the stiffer bushings,if the control arm itself is different from the standard issue?

"The rear control arms...have high-durometer (50K) bushings. These harder bushings reduce wheel hop under hard acceleration. (For comparison, production bushings are 11K.)
"These heavy-duty rear control arms are direct replacements for the original control arms."
The part number, 10164151, is good at GMpartsDirect.
