yes it could be. need to look at the codes to know for sure.

they made 45 1LE firebirds for canada and 62 for the US however my only problem with the car that you found is the 1LE cars were Trans Ams only i believe and the black one that you found is not a Trans Am

From the #'s I found ,they built 46 Formulas and 6 Trans Am 1LE cars in '91. If it's real, thats a good price. Chris

It will have the rpo code 1LE on the option code sticker in the console or rear storage compartment. It will have to be a 350/auto or 305tpi/5 speed car with no a/c. Chris

thats a pretty good price even if it's not an ILE..... it's a 5 speed, and it's a formula 91 and 92 formula's in good shape are hard to come by

If it is a true 1LE's then its a shame that the car has had the wheels painted.

I have 46 1LE's 6 of which were converted into Firehawks.

Someone ask him to get a pic of the RPO's

YOU have 46 1le's, 6 converted to firehawks. I guess you have one hell of a driveway. I would hate to see your privats property tax bill. 46 cars. I am impressed.

If you knew OKFOZ, you'd understand. This is the guy who somehow managed to get his third-gen Formula into the " inner circle" of showcars outside the GM display in downtown St Ignace in 2001.

Been there, and seen it personally. :envy:

Yes the car is a real 1LE, I was with Chris when he bought it. I have seen the rpo sticker with my own eyes, I know that doesn't go very far, but I know it is real. BTW, the wheels look way better black than that crappy silver they used to be. the production numbers he came up with are from this very web site, if you don't think they are real, look it up. I want the car but have too many other projects and no space. I can give his phone number if anyone is interested. I will try to get him to take a picture of the rpo code sticker

Luke

Well I do have a 100' driveway, a 3.5 car garage, a 2 car pole barn and a 22,000 sq foot heated building to store them in... Unfortunately I do not have 6 firehawks, or 46 1LE's Yes I was referring to the production numbers I have on my web site.

I have a hard enough time convincing my wife to let me work on the cars I already have. If I had 6 firehawks, I would be looking to buy them all then sell them for what ever price I wanted.

As far as St Ignace, thats called sleeping in your car and then parking it at 3:00 am... I am too old to do that any more... I get a stiff neck sleeping on any other bed than my own.

JOhn

Maybe this will help \/

He actually lived in Indiana until about a year and a half ago, and he doesn't drive it everyday. You hit the nail on the head with the price, the miles are very high, and he was hoping to sell it quicker with a lower price. He is going to buy a c5 after he sells it.

In reality I think it could be a 1LE, Without looking at the RPO's no one can really tell. It has all of the requirements to have it...

AC delete -
5 speed with 5.0 TPI.
