im swaping in a new motor and wanna know what my factory red is so i can have a matching block . where do i look for the paint code? or does anyone know right off hand the stock red color for an 85 ? thanks

 

The paint code should be on the SPID decal in the center console(make sure the VIN matches the car).My '83 has a trim tag on the center of the radiator support that has the paint code.I'm not sure if the '85 still used these but the paint code for red in '85 is 75(unless you car is maroon that code is 78).

 

Or just go to the autobody supply shop and have them use their handheld meter deal to color match it exactly.
