Mythbusters does Knight Rider

cant be good for the tranny and/or axle going from a higher speed to zero in virtually a split second

if it was manual trans then i would think that it would kill the engine unless you magically hit the clutch at just the right time but then the car may not roll up the ramp anymore than the bottom end of it

i didnt watch the episode or the clip


i just didnt think it would be interesting to see

that was awesome I always watch this show, and have never saw this one the only problem was that they used a camaro instead of a TA, but I guess its the same concept

They did the same stunt on Fear Factor... I think they actually used Camaros that time too... nonetheless, the strain on the parts would be minimal, when you consider that the ramp was steel, and the tires would slip slightly when you hit them, as long as you took your foot off of the accelerator... The dumb thing about this "Myth" was that the car would never launch forward, like they thought, Its like when you hit the gas hard the tires would simply break loose...
