Re: help what motor?
im pretty sure you need the numbers stamped on the back of the block on the "flange?" that runs accross the rear of the block that bolts to the tranny. i hope this makes sense, im not very good at describing stuff.

Re: help what motor?
As you probably found already the V = Flint engine plant, the 0108 would be January 08 and I found DBK listed for '92 as a 170HP 305 TBI for manual trans. That's not to say that the code hasn't been used before. As 89importeater suggested the block casting number would better ID it.Check this site

You should have a 10 bolt, but as frequently as rear-ends are swapped it's not surprising.

Re: help what motor?
I thought the 9 bolt appeared in 1985...
If you have the SPID sheet look there and you will find the ratio G?? usually is the axel stuff.
In 1985 the V8's there were 3 to choose from:
LB9: TPI 305 - A4 - VIN F
L69: HO 305 - M5 - Vin G
LG4: Base V8 M5 or A4 trans. VIN H
Does your car have a 92 Engine, but the car is a 85???
If it was replaced it would not surprise me if someone did not put an el cheepo crate motor, as they are still only $1800.
