Vanity Mirror Questions
Searching the junk yards I found a vanity mirror (it was off a 1990 t/a). I'm thinking of putting it in my 85 Trans Am. I know it's not original but the girl friend wants one in the ride.
What's the best way to put it on my sun visor? will it work with curved sun visors that came with t tops? where can i get a new one?
thanks for looking. gotta keep the woman happy!!

Re: Vanity Mirror Questions
dont know of your exact problem but replace the whole visor, a shop could recover it to match, it looks like my stock ones have a mount in them for a mirror but im not 100% sure if thats what it is, there is a clip on aftermarket ones with and with out lights, the ones with lights run off of watch batts, its a tought, not the factory look but its easy and keeps her happy

Re: Vanity Mirror Questions
if i remember correctly, there were just two holes in the visor. the mirror just snapped in. i should have taken the whole thing but i didn't want to spend any more money. i'm in the process of installing a whole headliner kit and thought this might be a nice addition.
do you have t tops and curved sun visors in your car?
does anyone have pics of good after market mirrors that work with the curved sun visors? i want something that will look seemless!
thanks!!!!!

Re: Vanity Mirror Questions
Ihave the snap in one in my 92. The T Top 86 does not have one and I have never seen a curved mirror for the curved visor. But keep the little woman happy.

Re: Vanity Mirror Questions
If I remember correctly the coupe sunvisors are taller than the t-top version and so is the vanity mirror.I would have to look at how the mirror is mounted in my Z28.I included a link to the GM mirror Moder Day Muscle sells
http://www.moderndaymuscle.com/inc/sdetail/654
It's the same shape as the coupe just thinner.

Re: Vanity Mirror Questions
There is a difference between hardtop and T-top visor vanity mirrors. The T-top version is narrower to fit the curved sun visor.
If you feel around on the sun visor you should find the holes already there for snapping in the vanity mirror. All you have to do is cut the fabric.
