alright guys so ive searched all thru the car for the build sheet no luck, so since ill never have it i dont care if things are all orignal, i wanna show the car as a great example of what a iron duke could be, so i wanna put the highest options that could have came stock on the duke, and i know some of them are rather nice(already working on the berlinetta wheels) but my question is about the steering wheel, could another wheel be ordered or was the square center the only one the coupe could get?

The steering wheel with the square/rectangle horn pad is the only one I know of for the early('82-'85)Sport Coupe(and shared with the Berlinetta '82-'83).That's not to say a dealer would not have installed a Z28 3 spoke wheel.Same with the Berlinetta's aluminum wheels. The early('82-'85)Sport Coupe's only wheel option was the 14" steel ralley wheel(I'm not home or I would get pictures/RPO of these).
yeah i know the wheels werent a option on the sport coupe but i like them so i dont car, actually my car came with the factory wheel covers but the kid i bought it off of threw them away
so ill be looking for another set of them for shows but otherwise i hate the rally wheels, the only actuall body mod i plan to do is the addition of a spoiler which i know was a option you could add to these cars, with that exception the body will just get a new paint job and new badges and left untouched.
another question i have, the front bumper has the turn signals off a berlinetta, there clear with the black peice thru the centers, was this a changeable option on the car? if not im assuming the car was in a accident it was owned by a little old lady from 83 to 06 and the kid i got it from had it only about a year and said he didnt change anything on it, so im honestly doubting she would have changed it herself

The Sport Coupe's front marker/turn signals are the amber lens version. All 3 versions(Sport Coupe,Berlinetta,Z28)are interchangeable. They may have been road debri damage and that's what they were replaced.
The wheels covers shouldn't be to hard to find but the Berlinetta wheels might be(particularly the centers). If you don't want to use the 14" steel rallys possibly use the 15" Z28 5 spokes. One good thing on the ralley wheels you could take the trim rings/centers off and put the wheel covers on the same wheel for a show.

I'm always nervous about answering questions like this since in the early 80's GM would do all kinds of magic on cars that they sent to Canada vs US cars... eg most Canadian cars did not get the CCC system... ALL Z28's had the plastic hood in 83 & 1984 etc etc
But...
In Canada all three levels of cars "Sport Coupe", "Berlinetta" and "Z28" Could be optioned with the leather rapped "round horn" steering wheel... Of Course the Z28 came standard this way... I'll have to check my 1982/1983 order documents... But I'm also pretty sure that Only the Z28 came with a "base ball" leather shifter **** and leather E-Brake... I don't think that was an option.
