Does this look like an 85? I seen that it wasn't right off the bat, (even before I decoded the VIN) look at the hood. He is even stating that it is an IROC!!!

There was something funny about the speedometer also. It does not have the double pointer on it. I bet it has been changed. Looks like the dash badge is wrong also.

Do you guys agree, or have I totally called it wrong?

Why do people try and pass regular Z's off as IROC's? Are they ignorant of the facts or are they trying to be sneaky and dupe the regular guy into believing it is what it isn't??

Just received a reply from him and he said that I was correct and he changed the year listing.

Looks like he is still calling it an IROC in the description!!!

Oh well...

You're right in calling him on it.The hood is a giveaway but could have been changed as the speedometer/cluster assembly. You can't really tell about the nose with the bra on it but it looks like the '82-'84 nose to me.The VIN indicates she is an original HO car(eighth digit G) and she is a '84(VIN tenth digit E).A lot of people figure it will sell faster if they call it an IROC plus it gives a broader lister when someone does a search.A side not is I've had people ask me why my '83 Z28 doesn't have IROC decals/badges(I do have the gold single stripe wheels on her).

Not just the smog pump but the dual snorkel setup is gone too.I don't know which would be more expensive to replace. With the open element air cleaner would she even pass smog/emissions tests(visual obviously) in some places.
