L98?

1st i don't know if this is the correct section to be posting....
anyways i am thinking about buying a engine but the owner dosn't know much about. he says he pulled it from a camaro but dosn't know the year. all he knows it is a 350. the block casting he have sent me where 14093638. i did do some reserch and it looks like it is a TPI motor that looks to be 87-95. my guestion is "is this a L98?" is this the one w/ 250Hp and 345Lb tq? thanks any help would be great!

maybe check the ECM part number i believe the LB9 and L98 have diffrent ecm part numbers

The ecm is the same for 305's and 350's. The prom is different. If it has the tpi intake with centerbolt heads and is a one piece rear main then chances are it is the L98. As to which one you have is another story. the hp numbers are as follows. 220, 230, 240, 245, 250. The 250hp L98 is only available in the corvette. Go to your local engine shop and give them the numbers on the block and they should be able to look it up.

Awsome place to go too, Settled a Dispute someone had with me over a 327 I was selling him, Took me all but 4mins to convince him it was a 67 327 lol He took it & handed me $100 for it.

L98 is an RPO code, not an engine block. However, if that block came from a Camaro it is a L98.
