hi..i've been going back and forth with a guy on ebay...he has an 84 t/a which is allegedly 1 of 2000 pocono raceway pace cars..has anybody heard of such a thing? it has a placque which says "pocono raceway pace car..1 of 2000" on the console..

any comments?

It could be... To be honest there were several races were a 3rd gen paced races... 2000 seems to be excessive, I would think that someone else would have run across one sooner or later but this is the first I have heard of it. It probably was a Dealer thing, and they may have intended on making only 2000 and only made one... you never know. I am 95% sure that it was not a Corperate thing.

I have seen the car listed up there also.

My guess was that the car was supplied by a local dealer to the track, and eventually sold off.

Going by the description it dosent really sound (or look) like a factory thing. The car looks like a stock 84 T/A.

Like Okfoz said, if 2,000 had actually been made than their would likely be much more info on it.

Maybe the plaque was added by the dealer...
