pre 87 vs post 89 iroc stripes question

I had my rear bumper painted on my 88' iroc, and having a hard time hunting down a rear stripe kit. I need the black on top and silver on bottom. Are the pre 87's just flipped upside down, or is spacing between stripes different? I found a set for 85-87, and was wondering if I can just flip them over to work? Thanks for the help

Don't know about the stripes but you might contact

http://phoenixgraphics.com/gm/8890iz.htm

They've got the kit for your car and I've heard they are top quality.

If I remember right the stripes are different widths, top wider than the bottom. Probably best to get the right ones for the year. See kits on Ebay from time to time, real reasonable.

Thanks for the info guys. I've looked into phoenix graphics, however I only need the bumper stripes rh, and lh. Seems they sell only full kits, do you have any experience with this?

Re: pre 87 vs post 89 iroc stripes question

You can't flip it over.
The '85-'87 has the colour (silver, gold or red) stripe over black stripe with no gap.
The '88-'90 has the black stripe over the coloured stripe with a gap.

Phoenix Graphics stripes are factory perfect. No ebay order risk. Call them to see if you can get a partial stripe kit. They might not be able to like you said, but then as consolation you'd have spare stripes for the rest of the car.

True, By chance does anyone know what GM used to hold the tuned port injection and iroc logos on the rear?

Re: pre 87 vs post 89 iroc stripes question

The Emblems are easy...

Get some 3M Scotch-Mount, an example part number is 06383 which is a 7/8" wide Roll, the roll is 20 yds tho so you will have lots left over. Most good Automotive paint shops should have it, OR if you have a friend in the Bump & Paint industry he should be able to get you a little...
