Source for silver paint used on TPI valve covers

Does anybody know where to get an exact or close match paint to the argent silver used on the TPI valve covers? I need to repaint a set that somebody painted black.

Re: Source for silver paint used on TPI valve covers

Dens, I tried this with the Duplicolor high-heat paint a couple of years ago on my GTA but the finish yellowed after repeated heating cycles. The Cast Aluminum color looked to be a match.... it just didn't last.

You might try Eastwood or a similar supplier; they can probably point you in the right direction. I have an extra set as well and I'm thinking of going the powdercoating route instead to see how that works out.

Go to t good automotive paint supply place and have them look up the formula for it. If they are good they can get it. I used to have it but cant find it.

IIRC GM has a paint code for the color. If you go to the parts counter have them look up replacement valve covers, since they are all black now they give a paint code to get the correct color back on them for replacement.

I used Dupli-color Aluminum 500 degree engine paint with ceramic and their 500 degree clear coat on top. And mine look factory and haven't yellowed. The clear gives it the gray look.

f1ls1, which Dupli-Color aluminum paint did you use? Aluminum or Cast Aluminum?

Re: Source for silver paint used on TPI valve covers

Did the paint still look factory correct without the clearcoat on them? How much of a difference did the clear coat make?

The clear is what makes the color the same as the factory
