Anyone here have one?
Anyone here have one?
I have a 92 Z28 305 TPI(LB9) 5-speed, N10, G92 with the Z03 Heritage Appearance package and don't see many of them with this combination. Any of you know how many were produced with the 305 TPI, 5 speed and the Heritage Package and G92? Anyone here have one? Mine is black with red leather interior with the D81 Aerowing rear spoiler. Thanks!

The G92/5 speeds were pretty rare cars in them selves....probably only about 500 total made that year. With the Z03 package, yours is even rarer.... I have the same care without the Z03. They are the future collectible in third gens...hang on to it to pay the kids college!

Re: Anyone here have one?
To add to the G92 argument, I am not sure if the G92 was available on the LB9/A4 after 1986... I am 99% sure that it was not, as even the GTA's & formula's which came standard with the G92 when equipped with the 350 & the LB9/M5 never seem to have the Performance Gear (G92) when equipped with the LB9/A4...
Now that I posted that someone out there probably has a G92/LB9/A4 car, post it now and prove me wrong, I love learning new things...

Re: Anyone here have one?
Okay....I confess. I wrote the question and the answer on that Wikipedia page. Some one had to do it, as there isn't much information on the G92/5 speed production numbers. But if you follow the logic, it all pretty much adds up. These really are pretty rare cars...and the 92 models represent the best of 3rd generation performance with a manual transmission.
John, I'd have to agree that there were likely no G92/LB9 automatics.....really, why would there be?!

Re: Anyone here have one?
In so many ways, I never thought about it much until today. when the L98 and the LB9/M5 was introduced for 1987 there was no reason to have an LB9/A4/g92 car, as if you were interested in performance, step up into the L98 with an A4 or the LB9/M5... Prior to that the since the L69/M5 and the LB9/A4 were the top dog engines the G92 would have been an option...

The LB9/A4/G92 option was availabe on 87 and 88 Iroc-z's. After that it was dropped for automatics. I have an 87 LB9/A4/G92.

If that is the case then there is no way to actually calculate the total number of LB9/G92/M5 or A4 cars for those years...

Re: Anyone here have one?
As far as I know all L98 cars got G92 in 1992. So if 3,056 G92 camaros were built and 3,038 of those were L98 cars. Then that leaves 18 G92 LB9/T5 Camaros out there. Because as far as my research can tell me is the G92 package required the manual transmission with the LB9. Maybe 4-5 of those were Z03 cars.
EDIT: Scratch that.... I forgot about the B4C cars.... That complicates things further.

Re: Anyone here have one?
Production numbers for the 90, 91, and 92 LB9/G92/M5 cars breaks down as follows:
1990: 295
1991: 733
1992: 607
Certainly low production numbers that seem to have slipped through the cracks by most Camaro experts regarding recognizing rare third gens. This had been discussed indepth on another thread recently-

I updated the list... technically I am in the middle of updating the list... I did your math and it makes sence...
UNFORTUNATELY, it appears that 1987-1989 are not so lucky

My 91 Formula has the TPI 5.0 (LB9) with 5 speed manual, 3.42 gears (G92) and dual cats (N10) too... (or it did from the factory)...

Re: Anyone here have one?
ALL Formula's from 1987-1992 when equipped with the L98/A4 or the LB9/M5 got the Performance axel, the only way it was not standard is if the car was exported then all bets are off... Same goes for the GTA... The Trans Am however was not so lucky, some years the Performance axel was standard for some years with the L98 & or LB9/M5, other years you could not get the combo... There is a pattern, but I have yet to completely decipher it, but there is a trend...
