Well I would say rescue it immediately.I dont know if you know the history or signifcance of it.The notchback was a one year only offering and of that only 600-700 were made.(exact numbers can be found) and on top of being so low production it is also a GTA which is the epitomy of the pontiac 3rd gen f-body. Do us a favor and rescue a rare piece of history and uniqueness you will thank your self. By the way that is the one car i have to have before i go, your lucky!!

Sorry i didnt actually adress your question, i just got on a rant. Well the best thing i could tell you on value is to look on nada (not always accurate) and be honest w/options and mileage. Then most importantly ask yourself what is it worth to you, Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay
Re: 88 GTA Notchback Needing Resto Whats It Worth?
According to Pontiac, there was 718 GTA Notchbacks in 1988. The Notchback is an option package on the 1988 GTA. It consisted of a fiberglass hatch and integrated headrests in the rear seats (which also got used on the 1989 Turbo Trans AM).
I do not believe there is much market in value for the Notchbacks, atleast at this time. I've noted that they generally do not retrieve any noticable difference in price over a standard GTA.
There are some that hate the look, while others like the unique, "rare", package.
The Notchback lid had a lot of fitment issues from the beginning. I've seen several have window sealing and fiberglass imperfections.

You can't go wrong buying any GTA for $1200. It would have to be a real rusted, worn out, smashed up heap to make that a bad deal!
