89 camaro, what model?

Hey guys, I bought a 1989 camaro, I really like how it looks, the only problem is there are no emblems on the car, how can you distinguish what kind of car it is? I know its a 305 TBI, but how do I find out what model it is? Thanks guys.

Re: 89 camaro, what model?

A few different ways. There were only 2 models in 89, the RS and the IROC-Z. If the car is still original, the steering wheel will have a square horn if the car is an RS, round for an IROC-Z. The rims might be 16" if the car is an IROC-Z. The RS could not have 16" in 89. The RPO label will also state Z28 if the car is an IROC-Z. The IROC-Z has a steering brace called the wonderbar that the RS won't have. There are many ways to tell, but without knowing anything of what you have, we can't tell them all.
