Anyone know where I might pickup some new "Fuel Injected" door handle decals. I found them listed on gmpartsdirect under "classic" section went to order them and it says that they are discontinued imagine that. Checked yearone and couple of other sites with no luck so I thought I would ask.

Nobody makes them, and you can't get them from GM. Best bet is to see if anybody on here is selling some. Sometimes you can find new ones on Ebay, but I've seen a set sell in the $100 range. I've been looking for them also...
untill someone makes some repro's you'll have a hard time finding some nice ones.

The font is not the same as factory...if someone isn't too picky those would work.

I learn something new on this site often - door handle decals? My ride is an 88 and never had them, but I'm curious to see what they look like on a handle.

 

wow who ever is selling them for that insane price needs to put the crack pipe down.

 

I have 2 sets of those decals. I will see if I can get a picture of them and post it.

 

There is a real difference in the Factory originals and the after market ones but I'm not at all ready to drop 225 on something that was 10 bucks new. Door handles well just have to go naked. Anyone had any luck removing them from a car and putting them on another car? Probably be easier to remove the door handle and use it.

send an e-mail to the guys link on e-bay i gave you, i think he makes them himself and if you show him that other pic, he may have a font to make them exact

 

I am going to be removing these "Factory" ones off my car, eventually. I say factory because they originally came on my 83 Trans Am, and I swapped them onto my Formula when I got it, after the T/A was totalled.

I have had a pair of 4th Gen handles I have been meaning to install for about a year

 

Well I thought I would thorw out an update just cause it might intrest someone. I emailed the guy with the aftermarket ones on ebay and asked him if he could change the font and produce new ones. He said that he liked his and he was sure I would to unless I was a "Purest".

So while surfing http://www.phs-online.com/ I found a link to http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ there website say "Any Decal Any Car Any Year" well that's not really the case. Called and spoke with Chris he says nope don't have those and don't have anyone making them. I asked if he knew where I might pick up some. Response nope sorry I could be more help. No big deal I kinda think there intresting detail and would like to have some but not about to pay 250 for NOS on ebay.

THe Inserts came on 1982 thru 1987 Firebirds, Trans Am's, S/E's and Formulas. It was only on the cars which were "Fuel Injected" from the factory. I assume that since starting in 1988 ALL Firebirds and Camaros were Fuel Injected that it was an added expense.

I remember seeing them in Auto parts stores in the 90's they looked identical to the OEM ones too... Gold & all... I would not buy the ones that look aftermarket BECAUSE they are not correct, purest or not there not right... What the heck, your putting al lthat work into parts, why not make them right the first time.

Sure I would like them, but not even for $25 would I buy them if there wrong... Its almost as bad as if he mispelled Injection IMHO

For mine being a sem-purest I started pealing them off door handles OR I would just buy the whole door handle from junk yards. I could usually pick them up for next to nothing. I took them off the handles and then sanded and polished a bunch up, I took the best two and put them on my car a whole lot cheeper than $250...

John just wondering your opinion on whether an 87 GTA would have even come with the "Fuel Injection" decals on the door handle. Since all GTAs would have been FI from the factory. I'm not an ultra purest but close enough that I don't want the car to be decaled incorrectly.

I am not sure, I know that the other models did have it whith an FI engine, it would make sence either way tho, so its really hard to tell...

I will glance at some 87GTA pics I have and see if I can see the decal.
