I would love to know how to do this if it is still possible.

My manufacture date on the VIN sticker on the door is illegible. I went to a local dealer and they were able to get me my RPO codes but no build date. I NEED TO KNOW THIS INFO! This is killing me that I don't know when my dream car was made. I'd love to reproduce the sticker but I need the build date.

120519 is my sequence number. Can anybody help me?

Re: VIN sequence #'s

Your car was made the first few days of Nov, 1989... I would Actually venture to guess November 1, 1989 or there about.

1990 Production started in Aug, 1989, and ended Dec 31, 1989.
Production by month:
Aug 3325
Sept 8352
Oct 8634
Nov 7826
Dec 6851

There was a total of 34,986 Camaros made for 1990 MY

Production was halted in July of 1989 (No cars made in July 1989) Probably for a retool in Van Nuys, or a union strike, who knows, but my information shows 0 cars in that month.

Also note that there was 13 1991 Camaros and 13 1991 Firebirds made in 1989 as well as per-production cars... If you add up my Monthly numbers they are off by 2 for a total of 34,988. Chuck it up to Human error, or maybe 2 cars are unaccounted for.

This is definitely good news if we indeed have my build date. I would be thrilled if it was assembled on or through my birthday (Nov 5th). what information did you consult to give you this date? I would love to know, especially since when I finish my current Camaro I will buy the wife a 3rd gen--another 1990 car most likely.

Is it possible to get the exact or near exact 2-3 day range of assembly?

No, Your 89 production would be completely different. What I show there is for 1990 production, keep in mind that no 1990 F-body was made in 1990, and there was 26 1991 F-bodies made in 1989... Figure that one out.

God I would love to have one of those rare beauties! Any ideas if anyone here owns those vehicles and or even how to detect that one of these are from that build year? When I go shopping for another 3rd gen I might be on the look out for one of these just in case I cannot find a good 1990 RS, IROC or 'bird for the wife.

Also, do you have an answer to the question from my previous post? I would love to either have access to this information or know how to find it so I can check out the various 1990 MY cars since that is my favorite year.

I forget which source, but there are two, one is Wards, cant remember the other... You can find it at the library... I had to use my Public Library, and the library at Kettering University (AKA GMI)
