82-89 have it in the center console, 90-92 have it in the rear storage compartment. I might be wrong and its 82-90 and 91-92, but yours, being an 82, will have them as a sticker in the center console. If there is nothing there, you're out of luck.

Since you have a Pontiac, you can check here http://www.phs-online.com/ and order a complete kit on your car.

1984 was the first year to have the RPO's in the center console.

The best thing the '82-'83 cars all have is a trim tag. On Camaros it's located on the top center of the radiator support and it's probably similar on the Firebird. This will give info on paint color/type,interior color/trim style, seat style,if factory T-Top car CC1 will be present along with some other trim codes.

You may be one of the lucky ones to find a build sheet which will give you all the information for your car. This can be found in the seats, under the carpet, behind door or trim panels or it may not have been left in your car at all.

Just as Simo and Coolram62 said. Check the build plate on your radiatior support.

The RPO stickers did not start until 1984.

If you want to look for the build sheet which has all the options listed, try under the drivers seat. That is where I found mine. They could be anywhere though, under the carpet, behind door panels, under the dash, above the gas tank...I have heard many different places it could be but it seems to be more common under the seat. Be careful though, they are usually torn and deteriorating so if you find it, handle with care.

Oh, I guess I learned something today! I should stick to the 89-92's that I know the best.

Thanks for the clarification.
