how much is my car worth?

i done a search to find info but nothing showd up. I googled (kellybluebook, autotrader) Im just wondering how much my car is worth. look at my cardomain which is linked on my sig.

-1987 Camaro z28/Iroc Z. VIN 1G1FP21FXH4N11798
-body has 31,695 miles. engine has around 7-8,000 miles.
-brand new paintjob.
-New tires (around 2,000 miles on them)
-Front end suspenson and stearing professionally redone
-Swaped 305 for a 350 crate with a 4 barrel holly. 700r4 tranny(i think)
-Brand New exhaust. Flowmaster and Magnaflow (doing headers this summer).
-Good interior, only has a cracked dashpad and the driver seat is broken due to missing seat motor parts (going to replace)
-4th Gen console
-Power mirrors/windows.

If any other info is need i can get it. Im really curious on how much it is worth.

Re: how much is my car worth?

nadaguides.com is pretty accurate, from what I've seen.

Gorgeous car - what color is that? It almost looks like the Pewter Metallic they had on the last (2002) Camaros...

Re: how much is my car worth?

My best guess would be somewhere in the $8000-$9000 range. Low miles and from what I can tell it looks like the car is really clean. Nice hood and repaint!

Re: how much is my car worth?

for 8-9k i would hope obvious details would be noticed like the hood being held by a bar. besides the car is a carb car the pool of buyers will be significantly less and the cars is not emmissions legal so most buyers will be turned away by that

Re: how much is my car worth?

i wouldnt trust those hood shocks if i had a fiberglass hood.. nothing wrong with holding it up with a stick, 60% of cars were made with a metal stick that apparently works JUST as good as a shovel!! :O

I think it depends on where you live. There arent any emissions requirements where I live for any year of car so that wouldnt be an issue. I agree on the bar though--hood shocks or a stock (looking) metal bar would be needed.

Re: how much is my car worth?

The nadaguides.com & kbb.com websites are decent but don't really account for modifications and custom work. Your best bet is to have it appraised by a professional - it will run you a few bucks but it is hard evidence you can take to your insurance company to ensure you get paid the proper ammount if the worst should happen...

Of course there is always this: any given item is only worth what someone will pay for it...

I don't want to sound flippant, but your car is worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it, not one penny more.

Re: how much is my car worth?

Everything you listed is a bunch of crap that has no bearing on the price of the car. The 350 swap with a carb will only intrest someone who thinks it is a hot car (which is in question). so don't get your hopes up with those prices.

Re: how much is my car worth?

I would think that the car has 138k miles. Why did so much work need to be done to a 38k mile original?

With that, the car is only worth what a buyer will spend. It might look good, but who did the work and what quality was the work? Who did the paint and is it a quality job or Maaco special? With the assumed mileage, engine swap, repaint, etc, the car is worth maybe $4k!!!??? Who knows. To me, I wouldn't buy it so it's worth nothing to me.

Re: how much is my car worth?

The owner before me said he wanted the 350 instead of a 305, and when i got the car the engine only had 200 so miles on it he said. And its the best quality paint maaco offers. Other places here in my area over charge a paintjob by thousands. it was ither a $18,000 at one place, a $5,000 at another. And the front end had to get redone because the front right ball bearings went out and was out of lined, so they replaced everything otherthen the steering box.

$2500 - $3000

Not a lot of 38,000 mile cars out there needing that kind of repairs.
