Actual car?

I was told by a 3rd gen camaro owner that during the 84 TA production, the factory messed up and decked some of the 305 blocks too much raising the compression to more than the HO. This is the only time I have heard of this. Just wondering if it happened or if it is just a rumor. Thanks.

Re: Actual car?

That is a first I have ever heard of it.

One thing to consider is if you mill too much off of the top of the block and too much off the heads the intake will not seat correctly.

It sounds like a rumor. Kind of like some 350's accidentally being installed with the TPI in 1985. They were all 305 cars, but performed like a 350.

Sounds like one of the many lines of BS associated between backyard hacks and these cars. I had a guy with a big smile and a straight face try to tell me that the only difference between a 305 and 350 were the heads.

I guess it would be true if you had dyslexia.
