How many 4spd 82 T/A's were produced?

I posted in the wrong section a while back. When I was growing up we had a 82 Trans Am black with gold on the bottom, chrome wheel covers, flat hood, hard top, crank windows, carb'd 305 w/4spd and black cloth interior with an analog am/fm cass. I want to say it was a motorola stereo. I have NEVER seen another car like that one until this one popped up for sale near me. Everything appears to be the same with the exception of the interior. It probably had chrome wheel covers before they fell off like ours did. We got our 82' in the summer of 83' for $11,000 and I think it had about 9 or 10k miles on it and it was purchased from a dealer in Roseville, CA. We owned it until 1986. Here's some pics of the 82 for sale near me.

Forgot to mention that during the time that we had ours there was a girl that I went to school with that had one but theirs was more loaded with t-tops, cowl induction hood, power windows, power locks, auto trans with the Cross Fire 305 and black wheel covers.

Those are some nice looking seats, not sure how many 4 speed T/A there were, but I can tell you there were 20,946 4sp firebirds built. that includes the T/A, S/E and base cars

Thanks for the info! Now was 82 the only year for the 4spd on 3rd Gen Trans Am's? I don't recall seeing any 83's with 4spd's just 5spd's which I am sure is better for fuel economy. Man I wish I was in a postion to pick this car up. My wife and I are having our son within the next week or two.

the 4sp was avalable in the 83 and 84 firebird but only in the base firebird. I'm not sure how may where made in 83 but in 84 there where 1,925 4sp produced.

Those are PMD seats in that Trans am. They are very sought after in the earlier firebirds.

Re: How many 4spd 82 T/A's were produced?

1982 was the only year to have the M4 with a V6 or V8 starting in 1983 they were all M5's, only the I4 Engine was available with the M4 opiton from 1983 - 1985...

According to PHS...

There were a total of 52960 Trans Am's in 1982

There was a total of 20,964 M4 Transmissions for Firebirds in 1982 for all models

PHS reported a total of 7,033 LG4 Trans Am's with the M4 transmission... (Keep in mind that the only V8 in 1982 with a Manual was the LG4, the CFI cars all got the Automatic.)

Looks like a non-WS6/7 to me, judging from the wheels and stance, but $2500 sounds more than fair considering the great interior. Just my

Re: How many 4spd 82 T/A's were produced?

To narrow it down a bit. I can't find the data I saved a few years ago but there was a recall for 1982 parking brake adjusters that only affected manual tranny cars with rear disc. 1796 cars to be exact. So going by that info there were very few 4spd birds with 4 wheel disc in 82.
