gauge cluster

Ok so i have known about the 140 gauge clusters with the 'z28' on the speedo for a while now but i could never find out what year camaros they came in. It does have the "hot cam tach" with the yellow line at 5k, and the fuel gauge is different than the one i have now, its just a red line not a "L" redish line and the oil pressure red line is dotted not solid like the 145 cluster i have. Im not sure if that means anything or not. I wanted to say 86 or 87 but i cant find any hard facts. Does anyone know? thanks

btw i just got one for a steal

Re: gauge cluster

The 140 speedos with "Z28" printed on them were not factory installed pieces. However, they are GM parts and were available directly through the dealer parts department.

I used to see them advertised in the Classic Industries cat. as well.

I'm not sure if this is the one you're talking about...but I have a 140 cluster with z28 printed on the speedometer. Yellow line at 4.5-5k on tach. And oil pressure gauge is on the tach. I bought it for my 91 z28, but it turned out not to fit... So does anyone know what this one comes from??? I need a discription for ebay when I sale it... Thanks.

After market. Should fit 85 (perhaps 84) to 89 Camaros without any electrical issues.

There were no factory clusters over 145. Anything higher than that is aftermarket.

Re: gauge cluster

well does anyone know if there's a way to get my guage cluster refurbished? I want to keep it but I can't find where my problem is coming from. When I turn my lights on, my tach, oil pressure, and volt all stop working and my right turn signal light stays lit on the panel. I checked all my fuses and had the wiring behind the dash looked at, can't find a problem with any of it, don't really know where to go from here.
