Yes it does. Same nose as 86. This bumper cover was introduced in 1985. Basically the same look as an 86 Sport Coupe (which my car started as), but without black headlight pockets, black mirrors or black separator bar in the tail lights.

It's a totally correct, presumably original, 1985 sport coupe.

Interesting. I have a Camaro book that shows that nose as an 84.

Re: 1989 silver iroc-z

The Camaro White Book (how on the money it is factually, I'm unsure) shows silver from 82-88. Following is the breakdown:

82 Code 16 / 29,262 cars
83 Code 15 / 12,837
84 Code 15 / 19,987
85 Code 12 / 11,684
86 Code 13 / 11,750
87 Code 12 / 4,997
88 code 13 / 1,547

The total is 92,064 silver cars. How different the codes made the color, I have no idea.

Again, according to the White Book, GM built 180,018 Camaros in 85. Only 11,684 in silver. There were 21+ thousand IROCs. How many of them were sprayed with Silver Met. (Enamel WA - L8547 08547) out of the five colors avaiable would be interesting. That quandry and the report that Silver Met. was a one-year color would certainly lead to a rarity of silver IROC's--and the fact that I've never seen another one.

Hunting for answers.

The book is wrong, then... I hate it when they mix up pictures. What good is a book that just creates confusion?

Sport Coupes and Berlinettas received the facelift at the same time as Z28s. Basically the entire range was facelifted in 1985.

if you mean those from my reply to James, the colors are irrelevant I was just demonstrating the bumper differences, LOL!

The actual silver 85 i've seen for sale is in post #47 on page 1 of the thread (here)

Re: 1989 silver iroc-z

Just to clarify something that's slightly off topic, there is no such thing as a grey '89 IROC, either...Medium Grey was last offered in '88. As a matter of fact, I think Medium Grey was only offered on IROCs for '88...

Will, is that a factory AC delete car? If so that is an unusual bird. Also, I see in your profile that the car is listed as a 350 which is impossible unless it's been swapped...

My 1985 Iroc was what I would call gray not really silver. Also, it did NOT have fog lights and a place for a license plate in the lower grill. It had a lower grill. It was gray on gray. It was a fun car, but I have to say I love my 2010 IBM Camaro 2SS much better.... :-) btw...My IROC was a legitimate IROC that came from the factory configured as I stated. Those cars were just a little bit different from the 86 that followed it.

Re: 1989 silver iroc-z

I wonder how I missed this before, I love this topic

Silver and silver met are the same thing, one is just a more specific title. If there were no metal flake, it would just be light gray Also, silver was available on all '85 models as far as I know. Berlinetta is the one I'm not sure of. Of all the years silver was available, they were all very similar in color, except for '83 and '84, they were significantly darker.

And is it just me, or are the silver IROCs coming out of the woodwork lately? There's been a few posted lately, including mine. It's odd that the silver '85-'86 Z28's don't pop up anymore. I used to see them everywhere.
