We have a 1985 Iroc Z28 in Silver/ grey interior! 43k original miles, looks alot like the one pictured in this thread. My uncle worked for Chevrolet and my parents ordered this one in LA. I will have to get some pictures, we are going to take it down and get it washed and waxed. Silver is timeless! I just learned that this was the only year they were made.

 

Funny how tastes change. I bet if 1985 IROCs were offered today, silver would be the second most popular color behind black. As it was, it was the least popular IROC color choice. It wasn't popular on other Camaros either, since it barely squeaked past copper (a color that almost no one would order today).

I wonder how much the lack of popularity of the silver IROC had to do with the poor wear characteristics of late 1970s and early 1980s GM silver paint jobs.

 

im sorry for such a late post, but i also have a silver iroc that is my current project car i will be finishing very soon for my first car. I would like to know if the silver paint has a special name for when i go to paint it. Here are a few pics. These are from about a year ago so excuse the dust and all of it's dirtiness.

 

The paint code should be with the RPO's. IIRC, the code will begin with WA.

Very late to the party on this one but... I couldn't help but notice the dealer plate on the rear fascia said KOOL. Could this be Pres Kool Chevrolet out of Haslett, MI?
If so this dealer received the last 350 IROC out of Norwood. It was a black/gold car with black custom cloth interior and t-tops. I contacted the dealer soon after I found out this info and they wrote me back saying they dealer traded the car. VIN# is 1G1FP2181HN185818.

 

I got a 85 silver iroc I am going to try to save from death. Any numbers yet on how many were made

 

I also have a silver lb9 automatic iroc with dark carmine interior that has camaro words on the seats. dash says 22000 miles and are very straight. saved it from sitting for 15 years. hopefully get it together soon
