More pics of my 92 1LE

Got bored and the car was clean enough so I took a few pics. I wish I knew why my camera sucked. Anyway, enjoy...

Did someone take a Leir Siegler conteur seat bottom and get it covered to match the other seats in that car. I see the adjustable bolster and leg support but on a non headrest back. Also if thats a Z28 it should have a high rise spoiler. Very very nice car though!

Yes the bottom was recovered apparently. The car has some strange parts on it. Even stranger is the one owner said he got the car exactly as it sits in 95 from a dealer, with 1500 miles on it. Had the cage in it, frame bracing, wrong wing, SLP headers & cat-back, air foil, and a few other odd parts.

Does your RPO sheet also include the B4C code?

Nope. The deck lid is blatantly replaced. If you open the hatch and look at the bottom of the lid you can see spots where it's blue. And the wing is 100% wrong for a 92 in general. It has the 3rd brake light in the wing but the car still retains the 92 hatch with the 3rd eye up at the top of the back window.

The car's a damn mystery. I traced the parts back to when it had 1500 miles, and they were likely there since it was almost new and no one can figure out where they came from. The theory is it was owned by a dealer and campaigned in SCCA events. But it's nothing but a theory.

I'd guess the car had a racing seat in it, then someone took that out when they sold it, and put in the best they could find. It's not an uncommon thing with the players cars. My 88 TA had the decklid from an 86 due to a racing "incident" ... LOL. My driver's seat is a recarro. But that was racing.

When they left the factory, they did match all the other cars. The dealers or racing teams did the changes.

Not 100% sure on that. All I know is the PO I spoke with said they were there when he got it at 1500 miles.

In all my years around thirdgens, I've never seen braces like the above. The OE pass side cowl brace is there, however.

I like those braces...time to copy those then. Looks like someone made them but they look good! Has a factory look to it.

I wouldn't think they would be very effective since the passenger and driver sides are mounted in different locations.

The braces look like an early attempt at an STB.

Anchoring the ends in firewall sheetmetal seems kinda unconventional too.

That's where three-point STB's are secured.
