so im going to be looking at an '84 trans am today or tomorrow and dont know much about firebirds, i know more about camaros kinda, its a auto 305 5.0L with t tops is there anything i need to look for or be careful of on these cars Ive never had a 'bird before. He also told me it occasionally bogs down while accelerating, why could that be? it does need work how much are these cars usually worth in project condition, I don't want to pay more than I need to?

its the same car as a camaro with different body cladding.

look for rust and rot, especially under the car on the floors and in the rear wheel wells.

what mileage and condition? that has a lot to do with value

the bog could be as simple as tv cable adjustment

 

its got 133,000miles on it paint is decent, haven't seen it in person yet. I'd put the link for it up but I'd rather not have someone else jump on the only other third gen ive seen remotely near my town for sale...
