Titles

Has anyone used one of those title places like getnewtitle.com or the titlestore.com? I've had this car sitting in my garage since November of last year and i can't seem to find a viable 2nd option. The rs was titled in mass but never here in Vegas. I tracked down the original owner who said she would help me out but no luck there. Someone here has had to had some experience with this sort of issue. I've been told tow companies can get a title, just not sure how to approach that subject since im not sure of the legality of it. Any help you guys can help would really be appreciated,I wanna get this thing on the road.

Thanks

Re: Titles

That was the first thing i did and they pretty much told me I'm screwed and the only way i could get a title was to have a judge grant one but they don't really ever see that work.

Re: Titles

Is it possible to claim vehicles that have been abandoned for a certain period of time there?
I know it is possible in Canada, but not sure about the united states.

Re: Titles

I really have no idea if out of state claims are possible or not, it would likely vary from state to state as well.
So don't blame me if you or your friend get shot at trying to talk up the girls at any DMVs.

Please let us know what comes out of this situation though.

Re: Titles

did you call the mass. dmv? the nv dmv probly isn't much of a help since the car was never titled in nv. the mass. dmv probly has the old title on record and can probly send it to you or the previous owner if the previous owner is willing to help you out. much cheaper than paying $395 for a new title.

Re: Titles

Thanks for the replies, im going to look into all the suggestions. Have any of you heard of a bonded title? Apparently after getting paper work from the DMV you. Send out a certified letter to the address provided for the previous owner from the DMV. After x amount of time you get some sort of bond from a insurance company and bam title in hand. I dunno if it's true but i talked to a guy that has apparently done this before. Looked it up on the net and looks like it'll work. Anyone have experience with way of doing it? Trying to get out of paying the $350 to use a title service.

Re: Titles

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I have a title. I should become a detective or something. I found the original owners of the lien in Mass and they sent me a brand new Mass title. The place was litterally called car loans and the chvy dealer out there used them. I went from looking to spend $300 or more for a title to spending a whoping $25 for a new one.
