With not much info or pics, your guess is as good as anyone elses. Take some pics when you go look at it. See if it has cross fire injection or a carb on the motor. See if it has a disc brake rear end. Lets hope no mice have found there way inside or under the hood. Let us know what you find out.
be back tommorrow, the problem I have is getting pics on here

Worth it's weight in scrap metal.

I am quite partial to the early third gen Firebirds. If it's a legit Recaro T/A, and is able to be restored, than I'd say a decent amount. Third-gens just aren't worth much yet, but an all original Recaro with low miles could still get a fair price.

Check for ultra rare aluminum hood
the car is real ruff, the recaro seats are solid but cloth and brittle, the front is damaged.the place where the jack gose has been dammaged on both sides. small dents here and the interior tore up.NO rust!Hood and back hatch good.Rear end dose have disk brakes counted 10 bolts,Dont know if that counts on this old of car,it is a 305 cfi with automatic tranny.the console is in pieces so no rpo codes,I did get the vin no. frome the guy.He said he wanted 800 for it,I think he would take 4 or 5. It dose have t tops, black with gold trim.pics didn't take to well it was to dark and flash failed,

The SPID didn't come along until 1984, so there wouldn't be a list of codes in the console anyway. Sounds pretty used up. It sounds like it's definitely a sub $500 car. I'm thinking $50-200 would be a fair price. But then I don't like to pay more for a project then the car is worth in pieces if it has to be scrapped. That way I never lose money on a car.

Price sounds fair. It has alot of good things about it. Sounds like a great project. It is also a great color combo. The black & gold cars seem to allways fetch more money, when in good shape.
OK,sounds like the guywill take just over scap metal price,I figure it's a chance for some guys to get a few parts for there older 3rd gen.when I get the car I will try to post up pics on the parts forums and we can all go from there. The interior is the worst of the whole thing, parts were laying under the car and just all over,so at this point its hard to say which pieces will still be good, let me know how to get pic's up on here.oh yes the cfi part of the car is still intact.looks like everything is there,I will know more by the end of next week as we go get her and clean her up.Thanks for your input,Bobby

I believe one way is to get a photobucket account, upload them there, than put the links on your post. Cross Fire Injection setups make great paper weightsOriginally Posted by Bobby Suth

if they are made of aluminum there worth 40 cents a pound, can I change over to carb without changing heads like the v6tpfi

carb can easily be swapped on in place of the C/F,
lots of performance potential in that c/f setup if you
know what modifications need to be done..
if you you keep the C/F system in place,it's likely the
injectors will be stuck and need freed up-i can tell
you how to do this if needed.
If you remove the c/f,keep all the parts together and
i will be interested in buying them

ok,I give the guy half of the price today. he already gave me the title.should have this car home in about a week where I can start to really look it over.an origanal restore is probly out, just so many little things along with the front bumper cover, new paint by the time small dent are fixed.just don't see the price going up along with the cost of it,but havn't made up my mind yet. That old style tranny, were they on the second gen gm's

I doubt it. Unfortunately, it would only be the lowly 200C tranny in '82, the same automatic used in Chevettes. A warning sign is the word "Metric" stamped on the bottom of the pan. See my recent post here:Originally Posted by Bobby Suth
