What do you mean by limited edition? If you want to know if your car is really an IROC-Z then look at the VIN and the code sheet in the glovebox.

I moved this from the Members Camaro section to the History/Restoration section as I think it's more appropriate and will get better results.
By the way, a "350" in 1986? I think you mean 305. The L69 was a 305.

8th digit of the VIN is the best way to tell.
1986: F = TPI (LB9), G = L69 (the rare one), H = LG4

If you're asking how to tell if your Camaro is a 1986 Iroc with a factory installed 350, it's not. Why? Because none were sold to the public. Originally Posted by koryzazu

For some reason that number has morphed to 75 mythical cars, and still there's no proof of even a single car ever being sold to the public.

Wait... This one?
http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/1999188010.html
The price for that car new was only a couple thousand more then the asking price. Even in that condition, it's probably worth closer to $3-5,000. It looks like a nice car, but damn someone is really un-informed.

If its clean, to me its worth a little more than $5,000, but for sure $6,500 or so is all the money for an LG4. Although, for $6,500 I wouldn't buy it personally...I hate LG4s.

Did anyone else notice that
1) the ad said Ohio. The license plate is apparently Michigan, even if its a special OH plate that looks like a MI plate. If so then where is his front Plate,
2) Painesville is EAST of Cleveland which...
I think I smell a scam...

I got a PM from the guy saying he spent $8,000 for it, and feels robbed. Dunno if its a scam or not, but apparently his plan to flip isn't going to work out as he hoped...

There's a reason you research things like this before you hand over your money. Even decoding the VIN number would be enough to know the car is nothing special.
