84 camaro
I have a 84 Z/28. Was wondering anbout the interior of the car. It the word camaro up the seat over and over. It also has some weird adjustments on the front seat I have never seen in a camaro. I got the car from the 1st owner for free. Was going to have the seats redone and was wondering if anyone else has this in theres?

Re: 84 camaro
Those are the "Conteur" (sic) Lear-Siegler "Camaro Camaro Camaro" seats. Somewhat plentiful in 84 models; probably something close to 10% of Z28s had them.
Cool option. Didn't really make the seat itself any better though; same seat, just a different cover. Material to renew them is basically non-existent, unless somebody has started re-popping it quite recently. If they're not in PERFECT shape, they're not worth much, because you can't put them back like they were. If they're not ripped or anything you could try removing the covers (about a million hog rings) and cleaning them; not easy or fun, but sometimes pretty effective.
No I don't have them. Last set I saw was in a junkyard. They weren't worth picking up. Besides, that particular set was red. :barf:

Re: 84 camaro
The LS Conteur is different than a standard Camaro seat in that it has multiple adjustments: thigh, lumbar, and seat/back bolsters. Covers, in original colors (or close to it), can be purchased from Hawks:

Here's a history of the seat, along with pics, should anyone be interested:

Re: 84 camaro
They are different cause mine have like 5 adjustments. I would love to find the fabric. Have a friend that will redo them for free for me. My son loves the 80's and the look so he wants them to say.

Thanks for all the info. Told him we can get the fabric and he is happy as a jay bird. LOL
Re: 84 camaro
If you think the CAMARO CAMARO CAMARO interior is 80's, check out a Mitsubishi Starion some time. Some of them say TURBO TURBO TURBO all the way down the seat belts, on the floor mats, on the seats, the banner at the top of the windshield, and on the top of the hatch.......... They REALLY wanted everyone to know they were packing a TURBO!

Re: 84 camaro
ok, not sure where to go, i just bought and 84 z28 camaro, the guy told me it was a 350, im not sure how to find out a way to identify the engine correctly, i think its a 305 ho 4 barrel carb on it, it has edelbrock valve covers and thats it, how do i find out the size of that motor? also, i want to restore the whole thing, on a limited budget, where would you start? thanks

Re: 84 camaro
I thought the LS seats were one of the most comfortable seats out there. Much better than the standard seat or the TA seats, even the 4th gen in my WS6. Wasn't until the GTO that I found a nicer seat.

You would do better to post this sort of thing in its own thread, not in one about somebody's seats.
Less likely to get buried, that way. Thread
