Wherever you're reading that the LG4/5spd was Z28 only, is wrong. The Tech Data chart here for 1987 is wrong.

The LG4 was typical for 82-87 SC's. The five speed while less common then the 700R4 was an available option. I'd have to dig a bit to check the gear ratio, but with the 700R4 they (LG4 coupes) usually got 2.73 or 3.08 gears, with the 5spd the gear ratios are a little softer then the 700R4, so I'd expect 3.23 gears.

Almost as a universal rule with these cars, GM compensated for the softer gearing in the 5spd with steeper rear gears. They did the same thing to compensate for the V6. Most V6's have 3.23 or 3.42 gears, with the steeper gearing on 5spds.

Sport Coupes are neat cars. With the LG4 they carry the same performance as a LG4 Z28, but they have that sleeper aspect since most people don't know what they are, or what's under the hood. They also don't have to carry all the tacky ground effects.

Not really... The most common source of info like that, is the Camaro White Book. Unless newer versions have better production number break downs, it doesn't really specify for Sport Coupes. No one really tracked option combinations. So you can't really ever find out how many Sport Coupes were V8's, or 5spds, or any combination. VIN numbers don't really distinguish between a SC and a Z28, so any production numbers are going to combine them. About all that's documented are production numbers for some RPO codes and options that are distinguished in VIN numbers.

That's all assuming your car isn't a Canadian export. You can always try the decoder at Compnine.com but chances are unless the car is Canadian it won't be in their database.

The White Book shows about 40,000 LG4 Camaros for 1987, but that likely includes Irocz's, Z28's, LT's, and base Camaro's.
