Lots of miles, blown tranny, etc.
But I've never seen this color combo before, could you order that or does this car have a interior transplant? And what about the 145 mph speedo? I thought those were only on G92 or 5.7 cars?

OK...is it just me, or does the font on that odometer NOT look right, and doesn't appear to match the trip odo font???
I don't see why you couldn't order red on red with gold...it just looks odd compared to going with the tan interior. Can't help you with the 145 speedo...I do know it did NOT have to be a G92 to get 145 MPH, though/....

Red on red with gold I've seen. This is Burgundy, (Flame Red?).
EDIT: YES you could order that color combo. On to the speedo.

I still think the font on the odo doesn't look right...maybe I'm being paranoid?

Correct me if Im wrong but the red door panels and seats dont look correct for an 89 vert.
Factory verts came with 110 mph speedos.
Rims might have been gold as my 90 vert is red on red with gold rims and decals.
The interior and speedo look like they came out of an 85 Iroc.

Looks OK to me.... looks just like the one in my 83... didn't come there, of course, but I really have no clue what it came out of; I drove up from Carlsbad to Santa Ana to meet a guy that was parting out a car, and that's what it was.

145mph came on IROCs and Z28s starting in mid 86. I've seen early 86 cars with the old 85mph speedo, and my 86 (like most of them) has the 145mph unit.

My 87 IROC is a 305 TPI/5 Speed car and it came with the 5000 redline and the 145 MPH speedo.

Re: Another IROC has caught my fancy, but a couple of questions.
Yeah, I've seen early '86s with the 85 MPH speedo, and late '86s (when the law changed) with 145 speedos. But after they dropped the 85 mph law, most LB9s had 115 mph speedos and G92 cars got the 145. And in this mix, I still see 145 speedos thrown in which are not G92s or 5.7s. Just wondering how GM decided which car got which speedo.
BTW, are you going to ThirdGenFest again this year?

Not to familiar with the 85 mph speedo but the 145 mph speedo I have is from a Canadian 85 Iroc L69 H.O. 5 speed car.
Could it be possible that the 85 Canadian Irocs came with the 145 mph speedos and the ones in the US had the 85 mph ones.

Up until halfway through the '86 model year, US cars by law, could not have a speedo going past 85.
