Thanks! and yes i tried it...only bad thing was it rained/drizzled a little later on during the day. So some of tire wet dripped of the spoiler. It did look good prior to it raining lol. I wish the spoiler was higher up on my list of things to do,,but i think that might be the last being its one of the most expensive. What do you plan on doing with your current spoiler once you purchase the new one.. if its the rubber one i would love to buy it . I kinda like th erubber spooiler more

The spoiler I ordered is supposed to be shipped out next week"supposed"and when the car goes in for body/fender work your more than welcome to come and get it,I'll have no more use for it unless I decorate the garage wall with it(that be neat.I'll PM you when they take it off.You might have to pick it up in Deptford on the Delsea Drive.

You should bring that bad boy to the GM Nationals at Carlisle this year. GM Nationals are June 22-24, 2012.

I have already registered and getting the TA ready to go.

It would be cool to see some Jersey TA's there !!

Re: 1986 Trans Am Restoration

I appreciate any help . I recently purchased a open air cleaner and removed my stock one. It made some difference ,car has better throttle response and feel a little stronger. my question is. what do i do with this (pcv valve idk what it is... Green arrow pointing to it) im not sure, but it used to go into my old stock air cleaner. ive left it open and dont know what i should do with it. The car seems to run fine..I purchased a small type of filter that will fit... it is that fine? or do i need to drill a hole in the air cleaner and run an extension? what is the purpose of it if anyone cares to educate me?

Re: 1986 Trans Am Restoration

You can take it off and put a breather on the valve cover like this:

or something smaller if that's too big. Check Summit. They have a lot of them.
That's just for crank case ventilation. You will accomplish the same thing with the open breather, although the emissions police might not be too happy about it.

Re: 1986 Trans Am Restoration

i recently got rid of some extra stuff i had.. I found a disc posi 3.45 borg warner of a 89 formula ws6 with aluminum calipers for a good deal. It was located up in new york state. The seller also stated he would be able to install it for me the same day and have me back on the road. So i went. Real great guy and knows his stuff. This is the car with the rear in . Big difference in the way the car feels. Its a whole new car compared to the 2.73 gears non posi. The rotors and pads need to be changed, but even with the bad rotors and pads the car brakes significantly better than with the drums. little by little shes coming along. Still unsure on whats next!

Car looks amazing man! How are you liking the 3.45s? I just picked up another 10 bolt for my z28 with 3.42 posi and aluminum drums to replace my 2.73 posi iron drum rear.

If I may suggest, you could meet up with the NJFBOA guys at the Chatterbox Drive-In in Sussex County. Monthly meet is on June 30th. And there are some sweet roads up here.....Hawks Nest isn't too far from here either if you want to go further. The cops spoil the fun potential of that road however.

Re: 1986 Trans Am Restoration

I've never seen someone pull off a BLACK roller paintjob and have it look good. I've seen some white jobs come out nice, but you can hide anything with white. Just goes to show that elbow grease is the #1 ingredient in bodywork.

Now that it's been painted for awhile how is it holding up with the seasons changing and sunlight, etc. ???

ok im going to be brutaly honest.. it did fade slightly. Waxing it fixes it though... I know polishing it will bring it back. It still looks good though. Coming this sept im taking the auto body ll classes. Im going to paint the car there...I only have to pay for materials ....If i wasnt taking the class and getting to paint my own car there myself then i would do it again. Only this time i would use the marine rustoleum which has uv protection.

Re: 1986 Trans Am Restoration

Looks good !!! This year the weather was pretty nice over the summer, so I had the T-Tops off quite abit.

Next June bring the TA to Carlisle GM Nationals, it would be cool to have two Black TA's there, a 85 & 86 side by side !!

Hardly ever see these cars in New Jersey or anywhere else, glad some of us still have them.

Later
