IRoc Gauges

Hello,
I was wondering if its possible for my IRoc to have an 85 MPH speedo.
I found the build sheet in the car and it indeed says "IRoc Z" but I am still unsure. Thanks guys

Never mind, after looking slightly longer I found my answer. Sorry XD

well for anyone else wondering and to not look dumb

Re: IRoc Gauges

I do have one other question. Would it be normal for me to have everything else match Iroc-z but not have it on the door?

Re: IRoc Gauges

Believe there was an option (would be in your rpo codes) That would get the name deleted off the door

Not sure if it was just the name, or the stripes, or both, or either. DX3 or something like that.

(my 85 iroc has a 85mph, welcome to the club lol)

Re: IRoc Gauges

The Irocz decals on the doors couldn't be deleted until 1988 when they became redundant due to the Z28 to Irocz badge change. Cosmetic details could be changed easily, the only way to be sure a Z28 is an Irocz is by the rpo codes. 85-87 Irocs have the code B4Z on the service parts identification decal in the glovebox. If the code isn't there it's not an Iroc.

There's an entire thread about how to identify an Iroc on this forum. It should be easy enough to find with the search feature.

BTW the 140mph speedometer wasn't available for part of the Iroc production run, and plenty of Irocs didn't have the 140mph speedometer.

Re: IRoc Gauges

Most likely your decals got peeled off at some point, or the car got a repaint.

In 1985 you could get the optional "California IROC" package (in Cali only) which came without decals, without spoiler, and without louvered hood, but those aren't common, and like I said, were only available in Cali.

All other IROCs until 1988 came with the decals, despite what that grumpy old guy with the Blue IROC insists on every year at Carlisle when I make the comment about his car not having the factory decals.
