Re: iroc rim differances?

there are only 2 styles. Below are the pictures. Keep in mind that on the earlier IROC styole rim, some owners polish them out.

Early style rim

later style rim

There is also other style of rims that look like IROC rims but they are not. They belong to a different model of camaro. The other NON-IROC rims is below

Ooo, and also. here are the year ranges for the IROC wheels.

85-87

88-90

Keep in mind that if anyone claims to have 91 or 92 IROC, tell them to check the history of the Camaro IROC-Z. GM stopped making IROC's in the 90's.

Also note that while the 85-87 are 16's only, the 88+ can be had in both 15's and 16's.

JamesC, You are the MAN!!! I had no idea that there was a 15 & 16 inch IROC-Z rim. I learned something new today. I thought I knew it all about IROC rims. I just read that the N96 16" was an optional rim while the 15" was the standard.

To be more specific with the "IROC-Z rim", they are actually called;
PE1 Aluminum Wheels = 85-87 IROC rims
N96 Aluminum Wheels ( 15" standard & 16" as optional ) = 88-90 IROC rims

Re: iroc rim differances?

thats what i needed verified. i thought 88 was the year split, so i got that right. but i had NO idea you could get them in 15". interesting. the pics of those polished ones look amazing! one problem i have is,,,,i dont know which ones i like better lol. i did notice the later 88-90 iroc rims do somewhat resemble the 91-92 elite rims. but i just dont like the elites at all, i like the generic rally style rims better than those

Re: iroc rim differances?

I personally would stay as close as possible to original form. For example, I wanna get the chrome IROC Style rims. But I would never get anything that is "close" to looking like an IROC rim. Example below.
Im gonna get this

But never will I get something that resembles an IROC rim such as this

Re: iroc rim differances?

One other thing: The center caps from the two versions (85-87 and 88+) aren't interchangeable.
