Another speedo swap or is this original?

Nice car. One tiny little problem though could be the speedometer. The '86s didn't have 145 speedos did they? I thought they had single pointer 85 MPH speedometer units, and that the first 145 MPH units appeared in the 1987 350 cars.
FWIW, the silver '85 with the 1984 and earlier double pointer speedometer I noticed about a year ago is for sale on ebay again, being touted with 50,000 original miles. No Carfax history to confirm or refute that.

Re: Another speedo swap or is this original?
It looks as nice as mine. I thought the 145 speedo was offered on the 86, my 85 has the 85 mph version.
The engine is as clean as mine. I would want to see pic of it underneath.
I will say that cars with this mileage suffer from seals drying out. Mine does or it may be the texas heat that has played a part. His red interior is the same shape as my black, its mint.
That Silver one looks odd in many ways. I dont believe the 50K statement on that.
The leather on the steering wheel is twisted as hell for bing a 50K car

It's been written that way since 1996...
Late in the 1986 model year, the 85mph speedometer in the Z28 and IROC-Z
were replaced with a new 145 mph unit.
were replaced with a new 145 mph unit.

Re: Another speedo swap or is this original?
Ha Ha! I just joined this site tonight to ask this very question I had about the speedo in the silver IROC. I had one I bought new and knew that didn't look right. I even questioned the seller but he said it was like that when he got it and has no knowledge of the speedo having been replaced by the previous owner. Could it possibly come with it from the factory? It seems odd that someone would replace the original with an earlier style.
